Do I require a licence to hire a boat?
Yes, you will require an Australian Recreational Boat Licence (of suitably translated overseas equivalent) is required to hire a boat from the Boat Club Boat Hire. If you do not have a licence you can attend a short course at the Boat Club to gain yours.
Do I need a fishing licence?
The laws pertaining to fishing in Queensland depend on what type of fishing you wish to do. Please check the Queensland Government website here for more information.
Is there a briefing required before hiring a boat?
Yes, when hiring a boat you are required to complete an 30min briefing prior to departure. This briefing can take place the day prior by appointment to avoid eating into your hire time.
How far can I travel in a hired boat?
Our smaller 4.5m boats have a maximum traveling limit of 9 nautical miles.
Is a deposit required to hire a boat?
Yes, a $500 deposit (refundable) is required to prior to departure.
What happens if I exceed the stated hire time?
If you hire a boat for half a day and stay out for longer than 4 hours your hire will be automatically upgraded to the full-day rate and charged appropriately. Please contact management as soon as possible if you are running late.
